What we need to do

A gavel.

We have a law in Western Australia called the Western Australian Disability Services Act 1993.

We call it the Act.

A balanced justice scale.

The Act says that everyone must treat people with disability in Western Australia fairly.

A document with a list of items. Next to the items are crosses and ticks.

The Act also explains the rules that everyone must follow.

A document that shows an accessibility icon.

The Act says we must have a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.

We call it our Plan.

A large document with a speech bubble that shows a cross and tick.

When we wrote our Plan, we also had to follow the rules from other policies.

A policy document that shows a government building above a list. Next to the list items are a tick and cross.

A policy is:

  • a government plan for how to do things
  • where rules come from.
